Home Office Claim for Employees
By Randy Larson
How employees claim the use of a home office
In order to claim home office expenses, you need to have your employer sign form T2200 Conditions of Employment (attached) confirming that you were required to work at least 50% of your work days at home, without reimbursment.
Then, I will require the following information:
- the size of your home office in square feet
- the total size of your home in square feet
- totals for the following during the tax year:
- Rent;
- Electricity;
- Heating;
- Water;
- Home Insurance;
- Home Internet;
- Strata Fee; and
- Maintenance
Unfortunately, you cannot claim mortgage interest or property taxes
